Coach No. 2939 was built in the summer of 1955 by the Pullman-Standard Company for the Long Island Rail Road. It served into the 1990s in commuter service between points on Long Island and New York City, and it was one of three cars used by the Long Island Rail Road to test an experimental rubberized floor covering under the linoleum. Upon retirement in the 1990s, the car was acquired by Mid-Atlantic Railcar and was sold to the New York & Greenwood Lake Railway in the mid-2000s.

After the New York & Greenwood Lake ceased operations in the early 2010s, the car was stored in Passaic. This car was acquired by a property developer, Passaic Street Properties (PSP), which donated the car on September 12, 2020. PSP also donated the movement of the car out of Passaic.

This car was moved on October 3-4, 2020 to temporary storage between Lackawaxen and Hawley, Pennsylvania. It was moved to Port Jervis on November 17, 2023. This car is in poor condition, and it will be evaluated and salvaged for parts.
