Caboose No. C340 was built in October of 1953 by the International Car Company at their plant in Kenton, Ohio. The car was originally Erie Railroad C340, and became Erie Lackawanna C340 in 1960. The car was transferred to Conrail in 1976 and became Conrail class N-7D No. 21110. It was purchased by the New York & Greenwood Lake Railway in 1991 and restored to its authentic Erie colors and number in Suffern, New York. It was eventually moved to the railroad’s base of operations at Passaic, New Jersey.

After the New York & Greenwood Lake ceased operations in the early 2010s, the car was stored in Passaic. This car was acquired by a property developer, Passaic Street Properties (PSP), which donated the car on September 12, 2020. PSP also donated the movement of the car out of Passaic.

This car was moved on October 3-4, 2020 to temporary storage between Lackawaxen and Hawley, Pennsylvania. It was moved to Port Jervis on November 17, 2023. This car will be restored to an authentic Erie or Erie Lackawanna scheme. The caboose may also be used on Operation Toy Train’s annual Toys for Tots collection trains for additional volunteer capacity.
